LITTORAL : 2021

Audiovisual performance created in collaboration with Myriam Boucher premiered on 24 August 2021 at Mutek Montréal

LITTORAL (definition): The shore zone between high tide and low tide points.

An audiovisual performance combining sculptural objects, sound and light. LITTORAL explores concepts concerned with rising sea levels by incorporating scientific data around coastal erosion, thermal expansion, sediment compaction, and the accelerating effects of climate change. Fusing the virtual and the real, the physical and the imaginary, Myriam Boucher and Kathy Hinde perform live with objects, field recordings, lights, lenses and water, to explore the refraction of sound and light integrated with digital abstractions and manipulations. This performance seeks to explore boundaries and edges by inhabiting the spaces in between.

A project by Myriam Boucher and Kathy Hinde.

A commission from Mutek Montreal (CA) and Cryptic (Glasgow, UK)
