From April to October 2022, myself and Matthew Olden have been collaborating with researchers at Bath Spa University, (Freshwater Ecologist Ian Thornhill; Professor of Music, Amanda Bayley and Social Scientist Sarah Hobbs), Bristol based Community Arts Organisation IMALYA, and around 25 young people to build a deeper relationship with our local rivers, streams and waterways through listening underwater, making DIY hydrophones, being citizen scientists, getting creative with the materials we discovered and finding a deeper connection with nature…. below is a short summary of the project, which was premiered at the IMAX cinema at Bristol Aquarium on Monday 3rd October.
