I am so excited to receive my copy of Paweł Romańczuk’s book all about Toy Pianos, including a new CD with his band ‘Małe Instrumenty‘ (small instruments) of recordings of Chopin performed on a range of toy pianos and other small instruments.
The book is absolutely beautiful, with wonderful illustrations, quirky methods of displaying text, and a section of high resolution photographs depicting a large range of Toy Pianos, the earliest originating from over a century ago.
I feel extremely privileged to be included in this book, with my modified toy piano that uses solenoids and midi-to-voltage electronics to work like a player-piano controlled by a computer playing midi files.
