Aesthetic Art Prize Long List
I’m delighted to learn that my outdoor light and sound installation Luminous Birds has been long listed for the prestigious Aesthetica Art prize. Especially as it also won a British Composer Award for Sonic Arts in 2017. It means a lot that this piece in particular has received this recognition as it is made as a subtle intervention for public space, to be stumble across on a wintery walk home, livening up forgotten spaces and celebrating the many flocks of migrating birds that visit at different times of year on their whirlwind journeys around the globe.
Many thanks to Cryptic Glasgow for commissioning the most recent development of the piece to include sound in 2016, and to Kidderminster Arts Festival for commissioning the first version for their festival in 2015.
