Twittering Machines at L.E.V. Festival
It was an absolute privilege to perform at L.E.V. Festival in the beautiful town of Gijón in northern Spain in April 2023. What an incredible venue, amongst such talented company. I performed Twittering Machines early evening Saturday, in front of the largest screen I have ever encountered – for a very warm audience reception. I was then treated to the audiovisual wonders of Hélène Vogelsinger and Claraguilar. The previous night, I had the pleasure of joining Pablo de Soto, director of LABoral Centro de Arte, for a conversation about my work and the relationship to ecological issues – followed by an outstanding performance of CBM 8032 AV by Robert Henke – and much much more. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Bristol compadre Ross Tones of Throwing Snow, who’s set blew me away later on Saturday night. Other highlights were Annabelle Playe, Enxin/Onyx and Kai Whiston… although I wasn’t able to see the whole festival and was a little sad to miss Samuel Organ and Astrid Sonne at the botanical gardens on Sunday afternoon, who I’m sure were dreamy in such a setting . Below is a little film about the festival and some photos from my set – taken by Elena De La Puente. Thank you L.E.V. !
